VAT white list — check a counterparty before you pay.
Enter a NIP. You see whether the company is an active VAT payer and which bank accounts it reported to the register. A transfer above PLN 15,000 to an account outside the list means a lost tax cost and joint VAT liability — the check takes seconds.

How to check the white list yourself
The register is kept by the Head of the National Revenue Administration at podatki.gov.pl. Search by NIP, REGON, account number or name. The result shows the status (active, exempt, not registered, removed), the registration date, the address and the accounts. The register is updated daily and can be viewed as of any day up to 5 years back. The Ministry also provides an API — we use it.
Three ways to search the register.
By NIP
The taxpayer's status and every account reported to the register.
By account number
Whether the account on the invoice belongs to an active taxpayer — before the transfer.
As of a chosen day
The register as of the payment date — that is what counts as proof of due diligence.
What a transfer outside the list costs.
The duty applies to transactions above PLN 15,000 with an active VAT payer.
What the white list will not tell you
- who owns the company,
- whether the company or its owners are on sanctions lists,
- whether the company is in bankruptcy or restructuring,
- whether it is a shell — the register does not assess risk, it only shows the VAT status.
VAT status is the first step
In the full report the white-list status is one of 18 sources — next to KRS, the CRBR, the KRZ, sanctions lists and financial statements. The report records the date and time of the check and the accounts from the register — proof of due diligence for your file. See also: VIES — EU VAT number and KRS.
The VAT status is in the free check.
The white list, KRS, REGON and VIES are free. Owners, sanctions, financials and the score are in the complete AMLA dossier.
